Permission to Dream

If God is our creator and we are made in God’s image, shouldn’t we be imagineers…those who help imprint the image of our creator in the hearts and minds of God’s creation? What motivates you? What pushes you forward? What are your visions for the future? If you are one of those who have been reluctant to dream, reluctant to imagine a world in which all things are indeed possible, consider this invitation your permission to dream.

Permission to Dream

Grand dream

I dream of a church where people live like Jesus. Where He is lifted up and where He draws people. Where church leaders are healthy individuals with great boundaries and healthy relationships. I dream of a place where all are welcomed and embraced and no one feels like an outsider. I dream of a place where people are challenged to grow and change to become more like Christ, who embrace the fact that by grace we are children ...more »

The Faith Web

I dream of a church that is seen as a Faith Web--an interwoven network of people who support, encourage, welcome, love, invest, engage, and walk with one another. I dream that this Faith Web would be intergenerational, that it would leverage social media, that it would develop a sense of belonging for those who are a part and that it would easily welcome in those who are not. I dream that by this Faith Web, the Kingdom ...more »

Live the Story

I dream that we may see a fellowship that is so in love with the Lord Jesus, and immersed in His story, that we can't help sharing Him with everyone - not solely with words, but also in actions. The stories of Jesus would be so integrated into our thinking and so powered by the Holy Spirit, that we would be able to see those around us as He does, and serve those in need with love and compassion in beautifully creative ...more »

Permission to Dream

I still have a few dreams

That all people are valued, That equality for men AND women is a reality, That kindness rules over profiling, That children and women are never abused, That immigrants don't have to hide and be afraid of being separated from their families, That women don't have to use sex for power, That homeless are surrounded with loving families and can live indoors, That churches are full and Christians work together to solve community ...more »

My Dream

I dream of a church where the church dreams of Jesus. Where a missionalysis of our missionology unearths not another "More missional-than-thou" faditude, but a lived out love for Jesus. As an African American on this board, I'd love to be part of the "dream team" but too often feel included in the dream only to be excluded in the execution. Please think of Jesus' parting words, and let's dream...as one.

Mission New York

I dream of singles, couples, families willing to give up comfort and convenience for meaning and influence -- move into neighborhoods together to live in missional community affecting and serving the building, block, street, community, city.

United

I dream of a united church that would quit focussing on the insignificant issues that change nothing, and who would return their focus to the one who has already won the victory. A church that would quit multiplying efforts and fighting against one another, who would come together in one mind, one Spirit and for one purpose. We are The Body of Christ and the gates of hell will not stand against us when we are united, ...more »

Dark to Light

I dream of a community of faith that does not spend their time pointing at darkness, but showing people of light of Jesus. He came to save the world not condemn the world. Why do we spend time condemn and not saving?
